When we first started going out, I was ranked 1,000-something in the world in juniors. Since then, I’ve become the No. 1 junior in the world — in 2015 the junior world champion — and now I’m top-100 in the world in the men’s. I wouldn’t be here without her.”
She Is a Former Pro Tennis Player
Raquel Pedraza, born in January 1998 and raised in Claremont, California, was deeply involved in the sport long before she became known as Taylor Fritz’s wife.
She began playing tennis at the age of five and spent over a decade building her skills, six of those years competing at a serious level. Her older brother Adrian was her earliest influence, and she drew further inspiration from Maria Sharapova and Roger Federer.
By her mid-teens, Pedraza had stepped onto the international stage. In 2014, she won the Condor de Plata tournament in Bolivia. A year later, she competed at high-level ITF tournaments, including Grade A in Osaka and Grade B in Tulsa.
