Ronald Peet‘s childhood in the Bahamas was a whirlwind of activity. His parents, Evet Benjamin Peet and Vincent Arthur Peet had their hands full with their energetic son. “I was an extremely gregarious and energetic child,” Ronald recalled in an interview with Broadway World.
Instead of trying to rein him in, Evet and Vincent channeled his enthusiasm into a wide array of experiences. Soccer fields, piano lessons, taekwondo classes – you name it, young Ronald, 38, tried it all. “My parents wanted to let me explore all the various outlets available,” he said.
This approach came naturally to the Peets. His mother, Evet, a pediatrician for over three decades, wrote the book on child care – literally. Her work Pediatric Answers helped other parents navigate the ups and downs of raising kids. Meanwhile, his father, Vincent built a career in law and politics, eventually becoming a Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister.
Despite their busy lives, his mom and dad always made time for their children’s interests. Years later, Vincent was spotted in the audience of Ronald’s play Golem of Havana, beaming as his son took the stage as both actor and musician.
Ronald also has an older sister Vinette Leopard Peet who currently works as an Event Technology Manager at Cisco, balancing her career with life as a single mom.
For the Peet family, encouragement and freedom to explore were key. Whether it was Ronald’s early days in school plays or Vinette’s move into the tech world, Evet and Vincent stood behind their kids every step of the way.
But life in the public eye isn’t always smooth sailing. In 2021, the Peet family faced a challenging time when Vincent was taken into police custody and questioned by the Financial Crimes Unit about monetary issues. It wasn’t the first bump in the road for the former Cabinet Minister.
In 2011, he opted not to pursue re-election amid allegations involving the mismanagement of $180,000 in client funds. Additionally, a previous incident in 2006 involved his chauffeur stealing money from his bedroom closet. Vincent explained that the funds had been converted to U.S. dollars specifically for his daughter Vinette’s tuition at a college in the U.S.
Initially Struggling To Get An Agent, He Is Now A Successful Actor
After graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, the Bahamian actor faced a familiar hurdle – no agent and an unclear path forward. Instead of waiting for his big break, Ronald took to the road, touring with Shakespeare productions and honing his craft in Virginia’s theater scene.
The steady regional work was tempting, but he knew he had to take a chance on New York. Back in the city, he stayed focused while friends headed off to MFA programs. He chose to learn on the job, a decision that tested his resolve but ultimately paid off. It took four years of persistence, but he finally landed an agent.
Ronald’s breakthrough came when he starred opposite Alan Cumming in Jeremy O. Harris’s provocative play Daddy (2019). This role opened doors to more theater work, from reimagined classics to edgy new pieces.
He played Neville Stafford in Bad Monkey in 2024, which is an adaptation of the 2013 novel by Carl Hiaasen with the same title.
His Love Life Is Like an Open Book or Is It?
Back in 2006, his Facebook page offered a glimpse into his college life at Emory University. His profile buzzed with posts about Jillian Profeta, who seemed to be his girlfriend at the time. Their online interactions were filled with inside jokes and affectionate exchanges.
The playful nature of their relationship was evident in one particular post, where Peet captioned a photo:

Jillian’s response? “No fefo, i have the best fiance in the world!! I love you sooooooo much!!“
Don’t be fooled by the “fiancé” talk, though. From 2006 to 2007, his Facebook relationship status with Jillian evolved from “fiancée” to “wife.” However, the lighthearted tone of their posts suggests these labels were more about playful banter than actual marital status.
Fast forward to today, and Peet’s love life is much more of a mystery. While he and Jillian still remain Facebook friends, his Instagram tells a different story. Recent tagged photos show him accompanying various women to what appear to be weddings and formal dates, but he’s not spilling any details about his relationship status.
