The house, built in 2006 and completed in 2009, was custom-designed for Johnson, boasting seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a private poker room, a movie theater with a firefighter pole for access, a professional recording studio, a music room with vault doors, and a large workout facility.
The auction opened at $4 million and heated up in the final hour. Concierge Auctions conducted the sale without a minimum bid, a relatively unusual approach. The winning bidder, a local who had been monitoring the property, secured it for $7.3 million.
The buyer’s agent, Bob Hassett, said, “To pay $7.3 million for a home that’s easily worth $20 million, it is probably one of the greatest values I have ever seen.”
They currently reside in an 8,000-square-foot home in Scottsdale.
