David Janet is the executive producer of the political talk show The Rubin Report, created by his husband, Dave Rubin, a conservative political commentator.
While Rubin’s career is well known, Janet has stayed out of the limelight, and the couple has kept most of their married life private.
They have been married since 2015 and today are raising two children together.

Who Is David Janet?
Janet has been the Chief Operating Officer of The Rubin Report since 2013. On his LinkedIn, he describes himself as the “Co-creator and executive producer of Rubin Report, a long-form interview talk show hosted by political personality Dave Rubin. The Rubin Report is one of the largest news and talk channels on YouTube.”
In his role, he produces one-on-one interviews, panel discussions, and manages the show’s presence across multiple media platforms, including YouTube.
Before joining The Rubin Report, Janet worked as an executive producer at Ora TV and also held positions at RYOT as executive producer and video platform manager. Earlier in his career, he spent over two years with Sirius XM Radio Inc. as an executive producer.
For his studies, Janet attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Liberal Arts from the College of Communications (2006–2010). He also studied Spanish language and international business in 2009 at the University of Alicante in Spain.
Dave and His Husband David Got Engaged in 2014
In December 2014, Rubin proposed to his longtime partner, David Janet.
During a chat with writer and performer Kelly Carlin, Rubin shared that the proposal took place at a Fleetwood Mac concert in Los Angeles. He waited until the band played “Dreams,” Janet’s favorite song, before asking the big question.
Rubin also recalled how people around them—fans of all ages—smiled and cheered at the public proposal, calling it a true “sign of the times.”
They Got Married in 2015
Dave and his spouse, David, tied the knot on August 27, 2015, less than a year after their engagement. Rubin shared the news a few days later on X, posting, “Oh, we got married the other day. No biggie. @davidjanet (Style by @kellysmithstyle. Hair by @JessicaMayer903.)”
David had already come out as gay back in 2006 and has been outspoken about same-sex marriage. He once explained that if a Christian baker declined to make a cake for his wedding, he would not take legal action, referencing the Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case. He also added that, by the same logic, it would be wrong to force a Jewish painter to create Nazi imagery for a sympathizer.
Dave Is the Father of Two Children With His Husband
Dave and his life partner, David, are parents to two children born through surrogacy. On March 16, 2022, the couple announced that they were expecting two babies.

Their first son, Justin Jordan, arrived in August 2022, followed by their second son in October of the same year.
The family now lives in the Miami area, having moved from Los Angeles.
