Kelsey Bateman’s Family: Did She Have a Husband? Her Net Worth & Legacy

Table of Content Show

Kelsey Bateman, best remembered for her time on Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, has died at the age of 39. Her family confirmed the news, describing her passing as unexpected, though the cause has not yet been made public.

Bateman first appeared on television in 2009, when she joined the third and final season of Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels. At 21, she competed alongside 22 other women, all hoping to win the attention of the Poison frontman, Bret Michaels. The series followed the contestants as they traveled with Michaels on tour buses, bringing plenty of drama to the screen. Bateman managed to hold on until the seventh episode, making it into the final nine before being sent home.

Her elimination came after a wild night out with fellow contestants Farrah Sinclair and Ashley Klarich. Michaels recalled seeing her disappear from a concert and later spotting her lying on a speed bump. He told Bateman he thought she was “needing to be who you are not” and relying too much on alcohol.

With that, he ended her run on the show. Bateman, however, laughed it off in her confessional, quipping that maybe Michaels just couldn’t handle “a girl that likes to get drunk and lay on speed bumps.” She added that her next boyfriend would definitely not be a 44-year-old rock star.

The show ultimately ended with Michaels choosing Taya Parker in the finale, though their romance didn’t last. VH1 offered him another season, but by 2010, he shifted to a new series, Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It, which focused on his personal life with longtime partner Kristi Lynn Gibson. The couple later married in 2013 and are raising their two daughters, Raine and Jorja.

The names of Bateman’s parents have not been made public, though she occasionally shared family moments on her Facebook page. In August 2018, she posted a photo of her brother with the caption, “When you are playing clue and your brother looks just like professor plum.”

A year earlier, in September 2017, the former reality star honored her grandfather Kenneth Bateman on his 89th birthday. Alongside a picture, she wrote on Facebook, “My sweet grandpa turned 89 today. I never thought he would make it to this day but I am so happy he is here and thankful to spend the day with him.”

Sadly, Kenneth passed away on August 20, 2018. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University and had served in the U.S. Army.

Was She Married at the Time of Her Death?

Bateman kept her relationship status private, and no official records confirm whether she was married. Still, her Facebook page gave a small look into her personal life. In November 2022, she shared a photo with a man who appeared to be kissing her on the cheek.
