Why Did Kaitlan Collins Break Up With Her Ex-Boyfriend Will—and What She Really Wants in a Partner

Kaitlan Collins is currently flying solo—not exactly by choice, but definitely open to finding love again. The CNN anchor is now quietly searching for someone who clicks with her off-screen.

In December 2024, the Daily Mail spotted her on Raya, the exclusive dating app where celebrities and public figures swipe for love. Her profile reportedly features five laid-back, candid photos.

Before turning to Raya, Kaitlan was in a long-term relationship with Will Douglas, a Texas-based entrepreneur and pharmacist. The two started dating back in 2015, when Kaitlan was still writing entertainment pieces at The Daily Caller. They mostly kept their relationship private, but here and there, little moments of their life together surfaced.

Back when they were together, Douglas wasn’t shy about showing his affection online. He once shared a now-deleted Instagram post of the two enjoying a Garth Brooks concert in September 2015. The caption read, “When you and bae go to a @garthbrooks concert and stand on a manhole cover and also don’t make it on the kiss cam.”

But those memories have quietly disappeared. None of their old photos remain on either of their social media accounts, and they no longer follow each other. According to reports, they called it quits in 2021.

Douglas is the owner of Crimson Care Pharmacy Group, a pharmaceutical company based in Texas. He’s also made a name for himself in politics. In 2020, he ran for a seat in the Texas House of Representatives, aiming to represent District 113. Though he lost to Democrat Rhetta Bowers, he stayed active in Texas business and healthcare circles.

With both of them so deeply focused on their own ambitious paths, it’s no surprise their relationship faced challenges. While neither of them ever spoke publicly about the breakup, sources have hinted that their busy lives may have played a big part.

These days, Kaitlan seems to know exactly what she’s looking for. A source close to Radar shared that she wants “someone who’s not only down for a serious relationship, but who understands the demands of her career and is fully supportive.”

Another insider added, “She wants someone who understands her world and can be a real partner in every sense of the word.”

Now working as CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent and anchoring The Source at 9 p.m., Kaitlan’s schedule hasn’t slowed down—but her hope for the right partner is still very much alive.
