Savanna Gann is one of the many faces joining the cast for the series, English Teacher, set to premiere on September 2, 2024. On Instagram, the rising star expressed her excitement, sharing how “blessed” she feels to be part of this project alongside Brian Jordan Alvarez, Julian Sergi, and Enrico Colantoni.
What many may not know, however, is that Gann already has a long history in Hollywood.
She Went From Commercials to the Big Screen
Born on June 22, 1999, Savanna grew up in California and started acting at the tender age of 13. That was when she made her acting debut as ‘Helen’ in the 2012 horror film Horror House. Since then, she has dabbled in various facets of the entertainment industry, from commercials and theatre to music videos and supporting roles in TV series and movies such as Tell Me Lies and The Family Plan.
It wasn’t until 2023, with her role as ‘Runa’ in Zack Snyder’s eagerly awaited film, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, that she began to receive recognition. Reflecting on her breakout role during a January 2024 interview with Backstage Features, Savanna shared her exhilaration about the project’s impact on her career.
“This was my biggest production I’ve ever been on. I started my theatrical work this year and right off the bat, I got this huge movie with huge sets, the best of the best working, you know,” she explained. “It really taught me a lot about what to expect from movies and how to act on movies going forward.”

Both Her Parents Have Worked in Hollywood
Savanna’s blossoming career owes much to her Scandinavian parents who have long been fixtures in the industry. Her father, Chris Gann, boasts a career as an actor and stuntman with an impressive roster of over 125 films. Before his silver screen days, he was a world and national champion in Jet Ski racing. But his true calling came when he moved to Los Angeles after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Cal State Sacramento.
On the other hand, her mother, Jill Gann is a studio teacher and has worked as a crew member on major productions like The Suicide Squad and Shameless.
Their support for Savanna’s ambitions was prominently displayed at the premiere of Rebel Moon 2 on April 19. Chris shared his excitement on Instagram, writing “Rebel Moon part 2 drops on #netflix today! You will see my daughter @savanna.gann popping up all over the movie. Thanks Sav for taking your dad to the premiere, so much fun! The movie is great btw. Even better than the first.”
Similar to her, Savanna’s brothers, Jackson and Brode, have also found their footing in entertainment. Jackson even earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in The Alienist, while Brode, juggling his commitments as a baseball player, appeared in Under the Silver Lake (2018).
She Has a Degree in English Literature
Gann didn’t just chase spotlights; she also pursued scholarly goals. She wrapped up her academic chapter with a Bachelor’s in English from Cal State University, Channel Islands. On May 18, 2024, she shared her graduation moment on Instagram, posing with her parents and flaunting her diploma. Her caption read, “Got my English degree. Can read good now.”
Savanna Has Been Dating Mitch Peters Since 2019
She has found something truly special in her romance with Mitch Peters—a relationship that’s been as fun and heartwarming as it is genuine. Starting off with just some flirty comments on each other’s Instagram posts, their connection quickly grew into something special.
They made things official in May 2019 when Savanna shared a cute photo of them after a day out at a carnival.
The couple has found a common ground not just in their love for each other, but also in their shared passion for Hollywood. Mitch is an emerging stunt performer, who has worked on high-profile films like Gran Turismo (2022), Top Gun: Maverick (2022), and Ambulance (2022).
Mitch seems to have won over Savanna’s family too. Her mother, Jill, left a telling comment, “Such a cute photo of the two of you,” on the couple’s beach snapshot. He’s slowly becoming a part of her family, even joining them for outdoor adventures. In June 2020, Savanna’s father, Chris, shared a photo of them after a mountain biking trip in sweltering 100-degree heat.
