Roman Anthony, the young Red Sox outfielder, has one thing that’s been with him every step of the way: a family that fully supports his baseball dream.
He made his debut on Monday, June 9, at Fenway Park. While his family couldn’t make it from Florida that night, they made sure to be there the very next evening, and it couldn’t have been better timing.
On Tuesday, they filled the front rows right next to the home dugout at Fenway, watching as Roman recorded his very first major league hit — a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning, helping the Red Sox win 3-1 over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sitting in those seats were his mom, Lori; his dad, Anthony Anthony; his older sister, Lia, who quickly caught attention that night; and his younger brother, Anthony Anthony Jr., who goes by Tony Anthony on social media.
His mom was visibly emotional watching her son live out his dream. “I didn’t even really notice that they were there until I went out for my first at-bat,” Roman told reporters after the game. “Nobody really gave me a heads-up that they were going to be that close.”

Along with his immediate family, several others were there cheering him on — grandparents, an uncle, his agents, and a few close friends.

Social media blew up the moment Lia appeared on screen. Fans couldn’t stop talking about her, and the comments came flooding in. One person wrote, “I’d like to be the first to welcome Roman Anthony’s sister to Boston!” while another joked, “We lost, I’m in love with Roman Anthony’s sister.”
Lia’s Instagram also saw a huge spike in attention. She now has over 6.6k followers and counting.
She’s never shy about sharing her looks and body on social media. And for those leaving flirty comments, Lia is already taken. She’s currently dating her boyfriend, Jack Librizzi. The two have made their relationship pretty visible across their social platforms.
Lia, now 22 years old, recently graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in human development and family studies. She also holds a certified medical assistant license from Florida Health Science Consulting. Right now, Lia works as a teacher assistant at IMPACT Tallahassee.

Roman’s younger brother, Tony, also graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He currently works as an industrial investment sales agent at Matthews Real Estate Investment Services.

Roman’s mother, Lori Anthony, works as a physician assistant specializing in breast cancer surgery in North Palm Beach, Florida.
While his father, Anthony Anthony, keeps a much lower profile and hasn’t shared much about his profession, it’s clear both parents have been a strong and steady support system for Roman throughout his career.
