Who is Lisa Kennedy’s Husband? All About Dave Lee and A Look If She Is Dating a New Partner

Table of Content Show

Lisa Kennedy first became a familiar face in the ’90s, when she hosted Alternative Nation, MTV’s late-night home for alternative rock fans. With her quick wit and edgy style, she stood out in a sea of polished TV hosts.

These days, she’s still on the mic—hosting Kennedy Saves The World on Fox News Radio and writing for The Daily Mail.

Career-wise, she’s kept a steady presence. But when it comes to her personal life, things haven’t always followed the same smooth path.

She was once married to Dave Lee, a former pro snowboarder. That chapter eventually came to an end. Before her marriage, back in the mid-1990s, she had a quiet fling with John Rzeznik, the lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls, who, at the time, was still married.

From marriage to low-key flings, Kennedy’s love life has had its share of twists. So where does she stand now?

Let’s take a closer look!

She Has Two Daughters With Her Ex-Husband

Long before things ended, Kennedy and her ex-spouse, Dave Lee, appeared to have a strong marriage. They tied the knot in May 2000 and were together for 17 years before quietly parting ways in 2017.

During their time together, they weren’t shy about being seen in public. In 2005, they attended Life & Style Magazine’s Stylemakers event in California—Kennedy showed up with a baby bump, pregnant with their first daughter, Pele, who was born later that year.

Over time, they welcomed a second daughter, Lotus, and raised both girls while juggling busy careers and life between two cities. Their main home was in Pacific Palisades, but Kennedy also rented a small place on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Her weekly schedule was nonstop—catching a red-eye to New York every Sunday night and flying back by Wednesday afternoon. At the same time, she was hosting a three-hour morning drive-time radio show in Los Angeles.

It was a brutal pace, but one she took on with purpose. “I want my girls to see that if something is really important to you,” she once said, “you have to move hell and high water to make it work.”

Despite the chaos, she stayed committed to her family. Still, at some point, the marriage ended, and they never made it public.

A Twitter user named Hugh R. F. Campbell, who goes by the handle @Scotty_Hugh, noticed something missing and asked, “@KennedyNation Kennedy, where is your wedding ring, last two times I saw you on @OutnumberedFNC it was gone?”

Kennedy didn’t hold back. She replied, “Bro, I got divorced like 5 years ago.”

Though the split was low-key, both Kennedy and her former spouse, Dave, seem to have remained focused on their daughters. Dave occasionally shares sweet moments on social media, including a birthday post in 2017 for his daughter Pele that read, “Happy Birthday my love. 12 years ago today you were this beautiful little nugget placed in my arms and forever in my heart.“

Lisa Kennedy’s Husband, Dave, Is a Pro Snowboarder Turned Businessman

Back in the 1990s, Lee spent over seven years carving his path as a professional snowboarder in Seattle, Washington. After stepping away from competition, he took on a role as brand manager at Supernatural Mfg, where he worked from 1999 to 2003.

Today, Lee is based in Los Angeles and wears multiple hats. He’s the producer and host at Ernest Packaging Solutions, where he helps create and develop the YouTube series Cardboard Chaos, known for its inventive builds and out-of-the-box creativity.

On top of that, he’s been the CEO of Signal Snowboards since 2004.

She Had a Quiet Romance With Goo Goo Dolls’ Frontman John Rzeznik

Long before her marriage to her former husband, Dave, Kennedy was briefly involved with John Rzeznik, the frontman of the Goo Goo Dolls. It happened sometime before 1995.

Their relationship wasn’t public, partly because Rzeznik was still married at the time to his first wife, Laurie Farinacci. But something from that time stayed with him—enough to inspire Name, one of the band’s biggest songs.

Kennedy later told The Buffalo News that the lyrics felt personal. Lines like “Did you lose yourself somewhere out there? Did you get to be a star?” and “You could hide beside me… I won’t tell no one your name” felt like they were pulled from moments they shared.

When she asked Rzeznik if the song was about her, he admitted it was. “He told me there was no way all we’d shared wasn’t going to show up in his writing,” she said.

And if the lyrics didn’t make it clear, there was something else—his thank-you in the album credits to “Lisa Montgomery.” That’s her full name.

Is She Seeing Someone Now?

As far as the public knows, Kennedy is currently single. She hasn’t been linked to anyone romantically in recent years, and there haven’t been any signs of a new relationship in the spotlight.

Instead, she seems fully focused on her work—hosting her podcast, writing columns, and staying active in the media world.
