The American Pie alumn Jason Biggs met his wife, Jenny Mollen, on the set of My Best Friend’s Girl in 2007. Their chemistry quickly turned into something real, and within a year, they were already married. Since then, the pair have been open about the ups and downs of their relationship, often sharing details that most couples would keep private.
What has kept their marriage strong is not just that both understand the demands of working in Hollywood, but also how they have handled struggles together. Biggs battled alcoholism for years, even while the actor was already in therapy trying to quit. In March 2024, during an appearance on his wife Jenny’s podcast, All the Fails, Biggs revealed that he often drank right after his counseling sessions.
“I’m going to therapy and ‘working on things,’ but meanwhile I’m leaving therapy, having just had a good session, and I’m going to the liquor store and buying a fifth of vodka, drinking it and then driving home,” Biggs admitted.
He also revealed that he had hidden much of his addiction from his spouse, Jenny. The admission came as a shock to her, and she admitted she never realized just how serious it was. “How did I not notice?” she asked. Biggs then shared that he had learned how to manage his drinking in a way that allowed him to appear functional. “I knew how to get wasted enough to where I took myself out of the life equation, took myself out of the present, didn’t have to connect in a way that made me feel things,” he said. “I had it figured out to a T but not get too drunk where I couldn’t have a conversation with you.”
Despite the struggle, Biggs eventually turned his life around. In October 2018, he celebrated one year of sobriety, marking the milestone with a lengthy Instagram post.
“I first tried to get sober over 5 years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle. Turns out this shit is hard,” he wrote. “After some fits and starts, I’ve managed to put together one year of sobriety. I’m as proud of it as anything in my life.” He ended the message with encouragement for others: “If you’re struggling, know there’s help. Don’t be ashamed. We can do this.”
His wife, Jenny, has played a role that few would ever take on, showing support in ways that were both surprising and unconventional. In her memoir, I Like You Just the Way I Am, Jenny revealed that she once hired a prostitute for Jason’s birthday.
The plan didn’t go the way she imagined, and Biggs later laughed about it during an appearance on The View. “[The] prostitute wasn’t engaging with my wife the way I hoped she would, so it all kind of fell apart, and the rest is in the book,” he joked.
Through therapy, sobriety, and even unconventional moments, the couple has remained solid. Today, they’re raising their two sons, Sid and Lazlo, while continuing to share their lives with the same honesty and openness that has always been a part of their marriage.
The Couple Got Engaged Six Months After Meeting
As mentioned, Biggs and Mollen first crossed paths in 2007 while working together on the film My Best Friend’s Girl.
Though their characters didn’t end up together onscreen, things were very different off-camera. Their connection was instant, and within just six months, Biggs proposed to his then-future wife, Mollen.
Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen Got Married in 2008
After their whirlwind engagement, the lovebirds made it official on April 23, 2008, in a private ceremony held in Los Angeles. According to their publicist Lisa Jammal, the newlyweds “wanted to take in this moment without any distractions.”
Although the couple kept their first wedding intimate, they also planned a larger celebration for July of that year in Napa, California, so that friends and family could join them. “It is the real deal,” a friend of the couple told OK! at the time. “I have never known two people more in love.”
Seventeen years later, the love is still there. The pair marked their anniversary in 2025, with Jenny posting a sweet video of Jason on Instagram along with the caption, “17 years of this. Happy Anniversary @biggsjason.”

Motherhood wasn’t always picture-perfect, and Jenny has spoken candidly about her struggles. In 2017, she opened up about postpartum depression on Instagram Stories.
“You’ll be shocked how fast you can just wake up one day and be in the darkest place and think, ‘What’s wrong with me? I’m a new mom. I should be so happy,’” she admitted.
She explained that while others often told her how “lucky and happy and amazing” things were, it didn’t match how she truly felt. “Don’t buy into that s––t,” she added. “If you feel bad, please get help.”
Today, Jason and Jenny live in New York City with their two boys and their dog, Ruxi.
