Whitney Ward, the wife of NASCAR driver Austin Dillon, first gained attention as an NFL cheerleader before moving into the business world with her own cosmetic ventures. She and Dillon met in 2015, a connection that later brought them together on reality TV, giving fans a glimpse into their lives away from the track.
The couple now shares two children — a son and a daughter — while balancing family life with their careers. Here’s a closer look at their marriage, family, and everything to know about Whitney.
What Does Austin Dillon’s Wife Whitney Ward Do?
Whitney Ward Dillon is a businesswoman and television personality. She is the co-owner of the jewelry brand Shop the WM. She also runs The BFF Blog, with her best friend Mariel Swan, where the two share lifestyle content.
Her presence has extended to reality television as well. Together with her husband, Austin, Whitney appeared on Racing Wives and later starred in Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane.
Before entering business and TV, Whitney was an NFL cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans. Born in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, the celebrity spouse studied at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was a cheerleader and captain in her senior year.
Her selection to the Titans’ squad in 2012 was a proud milestone. Speaking to The Chattanoogan after being named, Ward said, “This is real special for me as I am one of seven new cheerleaders on the team and, as far as I know, the first Titans cheerleader from Chattanooga.”
She added, “This is serious business being a Titans cheerleader as we represent a big-time NFL team. Any slip ups in any way and we are gone. No questions asked. This is a big responsibility, but also a huge opportunity for me. The squad includes ladies who have college degrees, master’s degrees, and one even has her PhD.”
When Did They Marry?
Austin met Whitney in 2015, and less than a year later, the couple became engaged. The proposal happened during a trip to the Bahamas on August 9, 2016.
They married on December 9, 2017, at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina, a venue owned by Austin’s grandfather Richard Childress, who also owns his racing team.
Whitney later shared her memories of the day on The BFF Blog, describing how everything felt like a blessing. “God smiled on December 9, 2017. He blessed that day with every desire of mine and Austin’s heart. Literally, everything we wanted came to pass. It doesn’t snow much in North Carolina and I can’t believe we had a winter wonderland for our big day! Austin originally wanted to get married in Montana for the snow so I was thrilled when he got the one thing he wanted most for our magical day.”
She recalled the lavish details of the wedding, including her 15-pound bouquet and a flower wall centerpiece, while the rare North Carolina snow made the vineyard setting unforgettable.
The couple also exchanged meaningful gifts. Whitney surprised Austin with a basketball shooting machine called The Gun 6000, which costs around $7,000.
Over the years, Austin has celebrated their marriage openly. On their sixth wedding anniversary, the racer shared a wedding photo on Instagram and wrote, “6 years and you still got me smiling ear to ear. In 6 years we have done and seen a lot including adding 2 wonderful kids to our family. Making life double the fun. Thank you so much for the first 6 years, can’t wait to experience the rest of this life with you.”
The Dillon family often travels together to support Austin’s career. His wife, Whitney, has admitted that watching him race still makes her nervous. Speaking with Us Weekly in June 2022, Ward said, “I always get nervous [watching him compete]. I’m like a high-energy person. My emotions are on, like, 50,000 at all times. So yes, I always get nervous and very excited. It’s an exciting sport and I love that we’re a part of it.”
Austin Dillon Is the Father of Two Children With His Wife
Dillon and his wife, Whitney, are parents to two children. Their firstborn, Ace RC Dillon, arrived in June 2020. Three years later, the family grew again with the birth of their daughter, Blaize Austin Dillon, in June 2023.
Whitney Ward announced her second pregnancy in January 2023 with a now-deleted Instagram post that read, “Dillon party of FOUR… Thank you Jesus for this journey.” She shared a photo alongside Austin and their son Ace, all smiles as they held up the ultrasound that revealed the news.
Life at home is rounded out by the family’s French Bulldog, Gucci Girl, who often makes appearances on their social media.
Today, the Dillons live in North Carolina, close to where Austin was born and raised.
