Robert William Sheehan, the youngest in the Sheehan family, has made a name for himself as the first actor of the family. He has two older siblings, Brendan and Shauna, who each excel in their respective professions.
Their parents, Maria and Joseph, a member of the Garda Síochána, have always nurtured a loving and supportive environment. They have watched their children grow into successful professionals, each shining in their respective domains.
Brendan Has Both Brains and Brawns
Brendan Sheehan, Robert’s older brother, has a pretty diverse career. He didn’t start in the arts, though. Before joining acting, Brendan was big in the business world. He served as the Managing Director of Mortgage Loans from 2007 to 2011 and even ran two fitness businesses—Fitness Supplements Vitamins and Brendan Sheehan Fitness—between 2008 and 2013.
But it was his girlfriend, Joy, who first nudged him toward modeling and eventually acting. Brendan admits he initially laughed off her suggestion, but her persistence paid off. He started landing a few modeling jobs, and soon enough, he was all in on the acting scene. Brendan often says that without Joy’s encouragement, he might not have made the leap into acting.
Even though Robert’s insights have been valuable, Brendan emphasizes that his decision to pursue acting was all his own. He recalls sending some of his early self-taped auditions to Robert, cringing at how awkward they were. Luckily, only his brother had to witness those initial attempts. But as Brendan started getting roles, Robert began to see his potential. But being the elder brother, his pride in Robert is evident too—Brendan once tweeted about his excitement for the Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTAs), where Robert was up for Best Actor.

Brendan’s not just about acting, though. He’s also a graphic designer and website designer living in London. Plus, he’s got his own men’s t-shirt brand called EMDRN.

Despite their busy lives, Brendan and Robert remain close. Brendan says they’re “best mates” and admits they get pretty emotional when they’re together. He said, “We’re close, best mates really. I like him, he likes me. We’re very sloppy and emotional. He’s getting busier and busier all the time so we see him less and less.”
They hang out whenever they can, even helping out at their cousins’ burger joint in Killorglin when they get the chance.
Shauna is the Brainy One of the Family
While Brendan and Robert have made their mark in the arts, Shauna took a completely different route. Known as “the brains of the operation” in the family, Shauna is involved in academics and emerged as a finance expert.
She earned a Master’s Degree in international finance and has built a career in the financial world, far removed from the spotlight that follows her brothers.
