Sean McVay and Veronika Khomyn met in the early 2010s, sometime between 2011 and 2013. At the time, McVay was working as an assistant coach for the Washington Commanders, while Khomyn was a student at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Their relationship stayed largely private in the early years, even as McVay’s coaching career continued to move quickly. By 2019, the two were ready to take the next step.
On June 22, 2019, McVay proposed while the couple was traveling in Cannes. Khomyn later shared the news on Instagram through Stories, posting a short clip that showed her engagement ring and McVay beside her. In her caption, she hinted at the future, writing that she was excited for what was ahead with the man she planned to marry.

The wedding took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. The ceremony was officiated by Tom Raponi, a former professional football player and longtime associate within NFL circles.

Sean Is the Father of Two Kids With His Wife
Sean McVay and Veronika Khomyn are parents to two sons.
Their first child, Jordan John McVay, was born on October 24, 2023. Jordan’s middle name honors Sean’s late grandfather, John McVay, who served as a longtime executive with the San Francisco 49ers.
The couple welcomed their second son, Christian Alexander McVay, in December 2025.
McVay lives with Khomyn and their two children in Hidden Hills, California.
