Christian Menefee has been making headlines after winning Texas’s 18th congressional district seat in February 2026. The attorney and politician secured the victory after defeating longtime Congressman Al Green in a closely watched runoff election held on May 26, 2026. Former Houston City Council member Amanda Edwards was also part of the race before the election was narrowed down to Menefee and Green.
Away from politics, though, Christian shares a long-term marriage with his wife, Kaitlyn Menefee. The two first crossed paths while attending law school at Washington University in St. Louis and later tied the knot in 2017.
Since then, the couple has built both a successful professional life and a growing family together. Alongside their demanding legal careers, Christian and Kaitlyn are also raising two children.

Who Is Kaitlyn Menefee? Her Married Life With Christian
Menefee has built an impressive legal career of her own, working as an attorney in the tech industry for companies including Pinterest.
She met her then-future husband while attending Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where Christian was a year ahead of Kaitlyn.
Their relationship did not turn romantic right away. When Kaitlyn arrived as a first-year law student, Christian became her mentor, and the two remained close friends for more than two years before eventually starting a relationship.
After several years together, the loverbirds got married on September 30, 2017, during an outdoor wedding ceremony at Hughes Manor in Houston, Texas. Their wedding later gained attention through regional bridal platforms that featured moments from the celebration in early 2019.

One of the most emotional moments came when Kaitlyn walked down the aisle alongside her father, Richard Hill, known as Harris County’s first African American County Court judge. Christian became visibly emotional waiting for her at the altar. The couple also chose to write their own vows and included a special prayer with their parents during the ceremony.
They Are Parents to Two Children
Christian and Kaitlyn Menefee are raising two sons together, Gabriel and Malcolm Menefee, while continuing to balance busy professional and public lives.
Their oldest son, Gabriel Menefee, was born in August 2021. Often described as the family’s little “hype man,” Gabriel has already become a familiar face in many of Christian’s campaign moments and public updates.
The couple welcomed their second son, Malcolm Menefee, in 2024.
The power couple is also raising their children in the same Houston neighborhoods where they both spent their own childhood years, something they have spoken proudly about over time.
Gabriel already seems to share his father’s love for sports and activities. Christian has revealed that his oldest son takes part in several local youth programs, including soccer, martial arts, swimming, and t-ball.
