Faith didn’t always plan on becoming a journalist. When she first enrolled at SUNY Cortland, she actually wanted to study physical therapy. But as college life unfolded, so did her interests. She found herself drawn to philosophy and business economics courses, which led her to a journalism class in the Communication and Media Studies Department. That’s when things clicked, and her focus shifted.
She wasted no time getting her foot in the door. While in college, she joined the crew of CSTV, giving her an early taste of what was to come. From there, she hustled hard, landing internships with big names like Fox Business Network and Spectrum News, experiences that helped launch her career.
By 2019, after finishing her BA, she joined Nexstar Media Group as a Multimedia Journalist and Fill-In Anchor, working for WMBB-TV in Northwest Florida.
She Went Viral Through a Live News Coverage On a Beach
Her standout moment came on May 1, 2020. While covering a protest at Miramar Beach, a man dressed up as the Grim Reaper was protesting against the reopening of beaches during COVID-19. A snapshot of Faith—calm and unfazed by the eerie backdrop—went viral.
But it wasn’t just that viral moment that defined her time at WMBB-TV—her in-depth reporting on the FBI’s Lynn Haven investigation also earned her awards from the FABJ and SPJ.
