Jordan Britt Lovato and Rick Lovato: From a Bumble Match to Expecting Their First Child

Table of Content Show

Jordan Britt Lovato is known across the NFL world not only as the spouse of Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Rick Lovato but also as a creative entrepreneur and designer who has built a notable presence on TikTok.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, she was raised in a lively home with three sisters and two brothers, an upbringing that helped shape her energetic, take-charge approach to work and life. Jordan studied telecommunications and film, academic choices that informed the direction of her career.

Today she applies that background to her work as a wedding planner and designer, where her eye for detail and knack for organization are on full display.

Jordan and Rick’s relationship started through a dating app and developed into a marriage that their friends, family, and supporters continue to celebrate.

Jordan: The Youngest of Six and a University of Florida Alum

Born in Tampa on April 7, 1993, Jordan is the youngest of six siblings. Her parents, Fred and Nancy Britt, were married in 1985 and remained together until Fred’s passing on August 25, 2007. She grew up alongside five older siblings—brothers Thomas and Joel, and sisters Kristin, Jessica, and Colleen—sharing a busy, close-knit home.

Her father, originally from New York, worked as an entrepreneur, including ventures such as Tampa Bay Real Estate Investment and Development. He attended the University of Tampa, where he earned degrees in economics and psychology. Nancy Britt holds a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of South Florida.

Jordan completed her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and film at the University of Florida in 2016. She later added a digital certificate in UI/UX design from CareerFoundry, which she earned in 2021.

How a Bumble Match Became Marriage Over Five Years

Jordan and Rick Lovato first connected on the dating app Bumble. What began with a few tentative messages quickly grew into something more, and their initial date—on Mother’s Day in 2017—became the start of a steadily deepening relationship.

About a month after that first meeting, they announced their relationship to friends and followers, making their partnership public.

The next milestone came on November 28, 2019, when Rick asked Jordan to marry him and she accepted. After five years together, they tied the knot on February 19, 2022, at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.

Their happiness is visible in the images they share on Instagram, where they celebrate life together along with their two Cavapoo puppies, Otto and Otis.

Infertility Challenges and a Dangerous Pregnancy Complication

Jordan spent two years trying to overcome infertility, and after extensive care at a fertility clinic she finally became pregnant in the summer of 2023.

Her relief was short-lived: at six weeks she was found to have an ectopic pregnancy. In this serious condition a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, which can result in internal bleeding and other life-threatening complications.

Because of how dangerous the situation was, surgeons performed a two-hour operation at the Surgical Center of South Jersey on September 21, three days after the diagnosis.

Her physical recovery was slow and painful — she was unable to walk for five days following the procedure.

More than the bodily pain, Jordan struggled deeply with the emotional toll of losing the pregnancy. That period of grief and isolation affected both her and Rick, and it hindered Rick’s ability to concentrate on work during that time.

They’re Expecting Their First Child via IVF

In early May 2024, Jordan and Rick told followers they’re due in October 2024 — their first child together. The road to this pregnancy, however, has involved significant challenges.

After confronting infertility, the couple opted for in vitro fertilization (IVF). Jordan has been open about the experience on Instagram, sharing her story and offering encouragement to others navigating similar struggles.

In candid posts, Jordan discusses both the emotional strain and the physical demands of IVF, stressing the need for self-kindness and determination throughout the process. She frequently expresses gratitude for the support they’ve received and acknowledges how fortunate they are to have access to treatment.

As they look forward to welcoming their baby, Jordan often reflects on the network of people who have supported them and closes her updates with messages of love and hope for her followers.
