Rev. Jimmy Swaggart has died at 90. His death was confirmed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Soon after, his family and ministry confirmed the arrangements, giving the public a chance to say goodbye to a man who helped shape modern televangelism.
For nearly seven decades, Swaggart dedicated his life to preaching and reaching audiences worldwide. Through his sermons, music, and broadcasts, he became a familiar presence in countless homes.
The public viewing and wake will take place at the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The church, once affiliated with the Assemblies of God, stayed under his leadership until the very end.

The Swaggart family has extended an open invitation to anyone wishing to be part of these memorials, whether by attending in person or watching from afar. For those unable to join, the ministry has created a digital space where people can post stories, tributes, and messages of support.

Messages have already begun to pour in.
One follower wrote, “I am so thankful for the life and ministry of Bro Swaggart. He was a rock for me during my backsliding.”
Another added, “Thank you Brother Swaggart for being such a good and faithful servant.”
On Father’s Day morning, Rev. Swaggart was found unresponsive and taken to a hospital in Baton Rouge with family by his side.
He remained under medical care for several days. Despite continued treatment and support from around the world, he passed away peacefully at 7:30 a.m. on July 1.
Rev. Swaggart is survived by his wife of more than seventy years, Frances; his son, Donnie, and daughter-in-law, Debbie; along with his grandchildren—Gabriel Lee, Jennifer Mullis, and Matthew Aaron.
