Heida Reed portrayed Elizabeth in the British period drama Poldark from 2015 until 2019, a role that brought her wide recognition.
After Poldark she continued working across film and television, and in her private life she became engaged to — and later married — Sam Ritzenberg, who hails from Marin County, California.
While the announcement of their engagement received substantial press coverage, the couple kept most details of their wedding out of the public eye.
Below is what is known about Heida’s marriage to Sam Ritzenberg.
Heida and Sam Tied the Knot in May 2018
The pair exchanged vows on May 27, 2018, in a ceremony at the Royal Hideaway Luxury Hotels & Resorts. Sam shared the news on his Instagram with the caption: “Beautiful woman, beautiful wedding. #bennanah #losrubinfelds.”

Since marrying, Heida and Sam have built a supportive life together, both personally and professionally. In November 2023, Sam and collaborator Sam H. Freeman premiered their first feature, the thriller/drama Femme, and Reed used social media to celebrate their achievement.
“I’m beyond proud of my wonderful husband @samritz and my best friend @freems88 for finally premiering their debut feature Femme. It’s the most incredible, thought-provoking piece of cinema and I love you both to infinity and beyond. Congratulations to everyone else on the Femme team for a tremendous triumph.”
The couple live in London with their dog and are keen travelers.
