Eric Burdon, the legendary voice behind The Animals, isn’t just known for his powerful vocals—his love life has been just as loud. Even now, while still hitting the road for tours, his romantic adventures keep making waves.

He’s been married three times, and one of those ended in heartbreak. Here’s a closer look at each chapter, from his first marriage to his current one.

His Current Wife, Marianna Proestou, Is His Manager

Burdon has been married to Marianna Proestou since 1999. A Greek lawyer by profession, Marianna eventually took on the role of managing his career as well. Their relationship began in the late ’90s and has lasted more than two decades.

Despite the age difference between them, they’ve built a strong relationship. Marianna has been a steady presence in Eric’s life, guiding his career through the ever-changing music world.

Currently, the couple lives in Ojai, California, and is often seen attending music events together.

Burdon’s First Spouse Was Killed Years After Their Split

Long before Marianna, Eric married Angela “Angie” King on September 7, 1967, at Caxton Hall in London. He wanted something simple, but the press showed up in full force, turning the day into a media frenzy. Angie was an Anglo-Indian model with ties to the hippie and music scene, which made their relationship even more talked about at the time.

Nevertheless, the marriage didn’t last—they went their separate ways by 1969. Years later, Angie’s life ended in tragedy. On December 19, 1992, she was murdered by an estranged boyfriend in Perth, Australia.

He Has A Daughter With His Second Wife

After his short-lived marriage to Angie, Eric tied the knot with Rose Jolinda Marks on September 17, 1972. This time, he was hoping for something more grounded. The relationship lasted about six years and gave him a daughter, Alexandria, who has since made him a proud grandfather.

Life on the road took its toll. Between touring, fame, and personal struggles, things got complicated. By 1978, the marriage had started to fall apart, and they officially divorced in 1982. Still, Eric has spoken warmly about Alexandria and what fatherhood means to him. He even named his 2008 album Mirage in her honor.
