According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a call reporting unknown trouble at around 9:30 a.m. on Erwin Street. When they arrived, they found Handy unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to a local hospital by paramedics, where the late actor was later pronounced dead.
In a statement released Thursday, police said the 911 caller told dispatchers, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.” Investigators identified the suspect as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, a Tarzana resident who lived at the property with his mother, described by authorities as Handy’s girlfriend.
