Bobby Sherman passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 81. He died at home in Los Angeles, only a few months after being diagnosed with cancer.
His wife, Brigitte Poublon Sherman, was the one who shared the heartbreaking news. Family friend John Stamos later reposted her message on Instagram:
“It is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Bobby Sherman. Bobby left this world holding my hand—just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage,” she wrote.
In early April, Brigitte had spoken to Fox News, saying her husband Bobby’s condition had taken a sharp turn. The cancer had spread quickly, and his body had started to shut down. “He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days,” she said. “And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and… he’s just sleeping more and his body’s not working anymore. It’s not. Everything’s shutting down.”
She stayed by his side through it all. In her tribute post, she called him her “prince charming” and described how he stayed true to himself, even near the end.
“Even in his final days, he stayed strong for me. That’s who Bobby was—brave, gentle, and full of light,” she continued. “As he rested, I read him fan letters from all over the world—words of love and gratitude that lifted his spirits and reminded him of how deeply he was cherished. He soaked up every word with that familiar sparkle in his eye. And yes, he still found time to crack well-timed jokes—Bobby had a wonderful, wicked sense of humor. It never left him. He could light up a room with a look, a quip, or one of his classic, one-liners.”
She ended with a message for the fans who had been with him through every stage of his life:
“Thank you to every fan who ever sang along, who ever wrote a letter, who ever sent love his way. He felt it. Rest gently, my love. With gratitude and love, Brigitte Poublon Sherman.”

Brigitte Poublon Sherman Is an Indonesian Refugee
Sherman married his current wife, Brigitte Poublon, on July 18, 2010, in Las Vegas. The two spent the next 15 years together, sharing a quiet life away from the spotlight.
But long before that, Brigitte’s life began far from the world she later shared with Bobby. And it wasn’t an easy start.
She came to the United States in the 1960s as a political refugee from Jakarta, Indonesia, arriving with her family during a time of unrest. They eventually settled in South Central Los Angeles, where she went on to finish high school.
After graduating, Brigitte worked as a real estate agent with Norton Development Inc. and the Homestead Group. Later, she continued her education, studying law and business at El Camino College and UCLA.
Bobby and Brigitte Were Active Philanthropists
After stepping away from their respective careers, the couple turned their focus to giving back. Together, they co-founded the Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at providing education and music programs to students in underserved communities.
Brigitte continues to serve as the CEO of the foundation and also sits on the board of directors for the Bobby Sherman Volunteer EMT Foundation.
Patti Carnel, Sherman’s First Spouse
Before Brigitte, Sherman was married to Patti Carnel. The two tied the knot on September 26, 1971, during the height of his fame.
At the time, Bobby chose to keep the marriage private. He later explained that he wanted to protect his growing family from the stress of public attention, especially since Patti was pregnant. He feared the spotlight might put her at risk of miscarriage.

Sherman had two sons, Christopher and Tyler, from his first marriage to Patti. After they were born, he took a break from show business to focus on raising them.
He was a hands-on father who made his kids a priority. At one point, he even built a miniature version of Disneyland’s Main Street in his backyard to make their childhood a little more magical.
In later years, Bobby welcomed six grandchildren, all of whom remained an important part of his life.
