The Coldplay kiss cam moment quickly spiraled into one of the internet’s most surreal viral events. Tech CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer at Astronomer, were identified as the man and woman seen embracing during a concert in Massachusetts.
Once the video hit social media, it exploded, with millions of views and plenty of memes.
In the middle of the storm was Andy Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron. According to reports, she removed her last name from online platforms and deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts shortly after the clip went viral.
Megan, a respected educator in Massachusetts, currently works as Associate Director of the Lower School and Admissions for the Hope Graham Program at Bancroft School in Worcester.
Before her accounts disappeared, Megan’s profile, listed under the name “Meg Kerrigan,” was filled with family photos featuring her husband Andy and their kids. The day after the concert, that account was no longer active.
Meanwhile, another Facebook profile under the name “Megan Kerrigan” appeared on July 19, containing a few solo pictures and one with family.
This new account has since posted several statements about the Coldplay incident, raising the question: Is the account real, and are the statements truly from Megan herself?
What Are Megan’s Statements on Facebook?
A Facebook page under the name “Megan Kerrigan” was created on July 19, featuring a single profile photo of Megan. That same day, it began posting a series of emotional statements that quickly caught public attention.
The first post read:
“Hello everyone, I’m Megan Kerrigan Byron. This is the most difficult moment of my life. I never imagined I would be thrust into the public spotlight in this way. I never imagined that my husband would betray me. I always believed that my marriage with Andy Byron was built on trust, respect, and pure love. Every time he told me there was something important at work and he couldn’t make it home on time, I believed him. But it turns out that during those times, he was with another woman. I naively thought he was working hard for our family, for our children. But the kiss caught on camera at the concert shattered everything. Seeing Andy and Kristin Cabot cuddle together, then hurriedly separating when they noticed the camera, brought me a level of humiliation and pain I cannot even describe. I cannot accept his actions. He was the husband I was proud of, the father our children respected most. His betrayal is not just a trampling of my personal dignity—it’s a betrayal of our entire family. I have decided to leave him. I cannot tolerate sharing a bed with a man who has betrayed me. It’s utterly disgusting. A second, more sarcastic post followed, saying:

Each of the posts has gained thousands of likes and comments, and the page now has over 9k followers.
However, the timing and emotional tone of the statements have led many to question whether the account is actually real.
Some Believe the Page Is Fake
While the Facebook page claiming to be Megan Byron quickly went viral and drew thousands of supportive messages, not everyone is convinced it’s real.
Doubts began surfacing shortly after the first photo was uploaded. One user commented, “You’re kidding me, right? You all believe this is a real account? Lol.” Another replied, “Exactly what I was saying. How many people actually believe this is real? 😳”
Skepticism continued to grow, with another user pointing out, “This is not legit. Everything was posted just a few hours ago!”
Some even flagged the language used in the statements, claiming it seemed AI-generated. One person wrote, “It was a page just created yesterday, and she hasn’t released a statement anywhere else—yet there’s one here that definitely reads like it was written by ChatGPT.”
Another added, “The grammar and spelling are sooo bad. That’s proof enough for me. LOL.”
With so many red flags and no official confirmation from Megan herself, many now believe the account may be fake, possibly created by someone trying to take advantage of a trending controversy.
